Jacob Coble was born in 1983 in Kirkland Washington. He grew up around the world living in Washington, Alaska, Dubai, Louisiana, Texas, Venezuela. The experiences he gained by living in these places shaped who he is as an artist today.

His home growing up was filled with antiques, artwork, and sculpture that his parents collected in their travels, especially Asian related. Upon his return to the states, he lived in Everett Washington where picked up his first commission at 19 years old, of an old farm dog in a rural landscape. He has been painting for 20 years from Plein Air, to landscapes, ocean scenes, wildlife, and astronomical art, in which he is a published space artist in a book called "Beauty of Space" with the leading astronomical artists from around the world, and is also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists, as well as a member of the Planetary Society. His astronomical art is owned by engineers at NASA, and hang in some of their offices here in Houston Texas. He won many awards in art in high school, and Designed his schools mascot in 8th grade while attending Colegio International Puerto La Cruz (C.I.P.L.C) School located in Puerto La Cruz Venezuela.

During the 20 years of painting and honing his skills, he fell in love with Sumi-e painting which is the Japanese art of Monochromatic ink painting. Thru the influences of his childhood, and the study of photo realism, he mixed both styles to create the contemporary wildlife art he creates today. His use of Asian brushes, watercolor and Japanese black ink, he is able to render the wildlife in his paintings to give them movement and depth. He lives in Houston Texas with his Wife and Son, and his studio is located in a renovated shed in the backyard.
